The Marathon Center of Excellence for Reservoir Studies

Welcome

The Marathon Center of Excellence for Reservoir Studies (MCERS) investigates a wide spectrum of reservoir problems with emphasis on field applications. Research areas include: reservoir characterization and connectivity, rate and pressure transient analysis, improved and enhanced oil recovery issues, infill well placement and multi-laterals, and modeling of naturally fractured reservoirs. The funding raised by the center is used to support research projects conducted by graduate students and faculty. MCERS also collaborates with other departments on campus, such as Geophysics, Geology, Computer Science, Math and Chemical Engineering.
